Welcome! I’m Rebecca, a 35-year-old FTM (first time mum) to my little girl, Luna Rose, and in another life, a high society magazine editor. You’re probably here because I badgered you into giving me your email address, or maybe because you follow me on Instagram.

If it’s the latter, it’s likely because we work together at Tatler, where I am the digital director, and that you’re more used to reading my writing on European royalty or society weddings.

Or you might follow me because as a journalist, you see me tarted up for work events, whether it’s the Cannes Film Festival or the BAFTAs, or reviewing the latest It restaurant or swanning off on a glamorous (hashtag kindly gifted) holiday. But you won’t be seeing any of that here.

Instead, while I’m on maternity leave, I’ve decided to keep my creative juices flowing (eugh) by expunging on all things Mum here - not mumfluencing, I’m keen to emphasise, but the complex emotions of motherhood and everything it throws up.

‘Aren’t there enough mummy bloggers pontificating on parenthood?’, I hear you groan. Yes, there almost certainly are. But ever since I could string together some ga-ga-gas, I’ve had a lot to say. And on motherhood in particular, I’ve got essays whirring around in my head all day and night (feed) long. My journey to becoming a mum was fairly uninteresting, but what’s happened since has been more atypical: not just one hurdle, but a steeplechase. And not to get all ‘my truth’ about it, but my perinatal nurse (read: free therapist) thinks it would be a good idea for me to ‘write it out’, too.

So here it is, I hope you enjoy it. It should be flinging its way into your Inbox every Sunday.

Oh, and the name is a hybrid reference to ‘90s classic Grosse Point Blank, and Mumsnet lingo. But I’m not quite at the stage of hiring any hit men yet… despite the sleep deprivation.

Now a mid-thirties FTM, before mat leave I was a magazine editor at Tatler. My writing has been published in The Sunday Times Style, Vogue and Grazia.
