How does she do it? With Aimee Victoria Long
When I first spoke with celebrity PT extraordinaire, Aimee, on the phone, she was just one week postpartum. I was in awe: I assumed that this must be her second, maybe her third child. But no, it was her first. And since getting to know her better over social media and via weekly training sessions with her fiancé, Josh, that awe has only increased. A genuinely lovely person, she runs her own business coaching both IRL and virtually alongside Josh, with meal planning, wellness tips and more on her clever app. Here she gives her very down-to-earth, no nonsense advice on mumhood, including how she manages to fit everything in while running not one but two businesses. Serious mum goals below.
How did you choose your daughter’s name?
We had a series of names we liked, both boys and girls, with a few favourites for each. We found out pretty early on that we were having a girl so that list only grew! Our decision was to wait until she was born to see what she looked like and what name we felt suited her most. We settled on Arabella Gigi Davies-Long, but we call her Gigi as it’s tradition in both our families to go by your middle name.
What does your typical day with Gigi look like at the moment?
At the moment it really does vary, as I am back to work and trying to juggle that with being with her. Her last feed is around 10/10:30pm and she usually wakes around 6-7am, I know I’m very lucky she is sleeping through the night and touch wood this continues! Our nanny arrives at 5:30am, so we can get ourselves ready for work and Gigi tends to have her first expressed feed with the nanny and sleep again until 9/10am. I try to fill my diary back to back in the mornings from 6am-1pm with PTs virtually, so I’m only next door if Gigi needs me, but we have the nanny until 3:30pm each day. I’ve also had a lot of my clients for such a long time that they are more than happy for me to have Gigi in my arms whilst I’m telling them what to do 😂, if I fancy having a snuggle myself. Afternoon time, is usually where we’d head out for a walk together, go to a local coffee shop or go to one of Gigi’s classes. At the moment we have baby massage, mini Mozart and starting swimming lessons next week. Then I’m back home for admin whilst she sleeps on me. We’ve started adding a bath time in around 6:30pm and again this varies depending on whose turn it is in the evening to take the lead with Gigi.
